CoWorker Projects is pleased to present video works by Alan and Michael Fleming including København, Lessons in Gravity, Perspective Portrait, Who’s Bad?, and Psychic Color Pour.
Alan and Michael Fleming are twin brothers whose collaborative art practice includes performance, video, photography, drawing and sculpture. With an interest in architecture and transformations of the everyday, the twins often take an embodied approach to art making. Their videos have been screened internationally in Denmark, Scotland, the Ukraine, Rio de Janeiro and Berlin. They have performed at the Movement Research Festival in New York, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, The Chicago Cultural Center, The Factory for Art and Design in Copenhagen and The Centre for Contemporary Arts in Glasgow.
Their work has appeared in TimeOut, Art Slant, Daily Serving and Artforum. Recent Solo Exhibitions in Chicago include “GAME ON” at threewalls and “Spatial Reasoning” at Happy Collaborationists. They are currently Fellows in the Artist in the Marketplace (AIM) Program at the Bronx Museum of the Arts and International Artists in Residence at the NARS Foundation (New York Art Residency & Studios Foundation). They each hold an MFA in Studio from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, which they attended as a collaborative, and a BFA in Painting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The artists are currently based in Brooklyn.
