Early on in her career, she had the opportunity to learn from jazz greats like Ellis Marsalis, and Art Lande. She has also had the privilege of sharing the stage with the likes of Richie Havens, Peter Eldridge of The New York Voices, bassist/singer Esperanza Spalding, and members of Tower of Power. Ayo has mixed her love for the complexity of jazz and soul with the honesty of folk and roots music, working to find the place where these worlds meet in her songwriting. Now living in New York City, she splits her time between performing and teaching. Ayo is currently working on her debut full length album with Grammy award winning producer, Scott Jacoby - set to be released in the spring of this year.
Matt Schlatter is a composer and guitarist based in Brooklyn. His songwriting is at once influenced by the simplicity of folk and an imagination for orchestral arrangements. In addition to his solo work, Matt performs guitar with Small Dream Ada, composes and plays piano for indie classical group, Marigold Opera, and leads the new electronic group, Instrument Thieves.
