CoWorker Projects is pleased to announce a very special live music event on Thursday, June 7th starting at 9pm Small Dream Ada is a collaboration between vocalist Alaina Ferris and composer Tyler Gilmore. Alaina and Tyler envisioned an indie chamber group occupying the space between poetry, classical music, and traditional song forms while exploring landscapes of the subconscious in its lyrics. It is a small orchestra that fluidly moves between a dizzying array of influences such as Leonard Cohen, Steve Reich, and Led Zeppelin. The music is written for intimate rooms (or “chambers”), which makes Subtwine@Entwine the ideal venue for showcasing Small Dream Ada. Small Dream Ada received a grant from the Longmont Council of the Arts to write and record their first EP. Last summer, Small Dream Ada initiated a Kickstarter campaign featuring a music video by Brooklyn filmographer Steven Harrington.
The campaign successfully raised funds to support the EP’s continued production. Small Dream Ada recently hired Ryan Williamson from Nashville, TN to help mix the project. The EP, Golden Propeller, is slated for Summer 2012 release. The June 7th live performance includes Matt Schlatter on guitar, Marty Fowler on bass, and Mike Beck on drums. Joining Small Dream Ada for guest performances: Eden Sela, a singer, pianist, songwriter and arranger living in Brooklyn. Eden is the youngest of seven children, in a family of circus performers, performance artists and musicians. She has grown up between Mexico, Montreal and New York. A special performance from Matt Schlatter, a composer, performer and educator living and working in Brooklyn, NY. In addition to playing guitar in Small Dream Ada, Matt plays piano and composes for Indie Classical group Marigold Opera and plays with electronics and loops in his experimental rock band, Fieldwork.
